Slapped Wrist Apology :-D

Evening all - as the title would suggest I am going to begin with an apology...I got a row for my spelling, from my mum lol!  Mortified!  31 years old and mortified!  My spelling has always been pretty good however I do have a really bad habit of blogging late at night when I'm tired and never spell check, I will now though!  So I am being very very careful this evening!

Here are a couple of pictures of a special commission I received earlier last week.  It was for a baby card with the baby's name and date of birth - nothing unusual there, however the birth date of the baby was two days later than I received the order.  There could be a whole new market for psychic card making!  Of course the baby was due by scheduled c-section, but was still strange.  Was also totally paranoid about it because when Daisy was born we had chosen the name Abbie, but one look at her and I knew she was definitely Daisy.  As a result I made the card so that it could be changed quickly and easily.

The last picture is the inside, had some left over patterned papers so had to put them to good use!

Not only was the baby born, but so too was a big brother who needed a very special card as well.

The star embellishment on this are little mirrors - not the easiest to take pictures of!

In other news the new craft studio is just about totally set up now.  It has been a little bit of a roller coaster of a couple of weeks.  I have been so excited about the new space as it is such a major step, however the shine has been taken off it slightly with the loss of my job which happened very quickly after I signed my lease.  In my younger days I was the queen of making snap decision (I KNOW my Mum is having a chuckle to herself reading this!!!!).  I decided to leave school at 16 in the morning, went out and got a job in the afternoon, and my poor mum and dad came home from work to a school leaver rather than a higher student!  Pretty much the same thing happened a couple of years later when I decided on the Wednesday I was fed up and wanted to move away and by the Friday night I was on a bus to a brand new job and life in Brighton!  I have mellowed slightly in my older years and didn't take the decision of taking on a studio lightly, I had a plan, or so I thought!   My steady employment would be piece of mind, and for probably the first time ever I felt things were under control and actually felt settled (which is miraculous!!!).  I even double checked and triple checked and then asked again that everything was ok for my job before I signed the lease on the studio, then bam, my job was gone!  I am drowning in a sea of CV's and application forms at the moment (which I am trying very hard not to embellish with flower punches and sparkles!).  I have never been so stressed or worried in my life, which is silly because I know things happen for a reason and something will come up.

Sorry I am rambling slightly however felt I should explain why I haven't been as bright and bubbly and full of the joys as I normally am!

And I feel a bit better for a ramble!

I will shut up now (and post this once I've spell checked!)

Night everyone, thank you so so much for reading, every one of you brightens my day!

Crafty Tea Party Loveliness

Evening all!
It's been a month since my gorgeous baby girl turned 9 so I thought it was about time I shared some of the pictures of her wee tea party...six girls, 6 decoupage cupcakes, and vintage china decorations!

The cake - obviously the centrepiece of any birthday party - and for daisy the more chocolate and the more girly the better!  Fresh roses complete with glittered edges in a vintage teacup mounted on top of a chocolate fudge cake, and we then finished the pretty cardboard cake stand with chocolate muffins, chocolate donuts, and chocolate brownies...

Plenty of chocolate dipping sauce for the goodies and the mountain of fresh fruit...

Obviously my princess had to have a personalised banner...

The table lies in wait - the girls decoupatched cupcake trinket boxes and wooden mirrors...(sorry - the sun was interfering with this pic...

3 loaves of heart shaped sandwiches - I must be blinking mad lol!

The guest of honour, I cannot tell you how proud I am of my grown up girl - she is such an amazing help now, and I don't know where the time has gone...we are most definately a team and I don't know what I would do without her - she's my little rock...

last but not least, the gorgeous party "bags" my brilliant mum made for all the girls - mugs, lipgloss, nail varnish and loads more all done up beautifully

Pretty sure my mum got some better pics on the day, but this kinda gives you a general overview!  It was a brilliant day, and despite Daisy not being 100 per cent well on the day (It was the start of a viral infection that absolutely floored her) she absolutely loved every second.

Thanks everyone for looking, and I hope you don't mind my departure from the usual craftiness!

Keep smiling, night night

A Quickie!

Evening all - just a wee quickie from me tonight because I am absolutely knackered!!  It has been a day and a half to put it mildly!

Thought I'd share a Get Well Soon card I did the other day , the brief was girly girly, so I used these gorgeous fairies.  I think they are Hunkydory, but if I'm wrong please correct me lol!

Hopefully little Chloe is well and truly on the mend now!

I have a couple of very special cards to work on tomorrow afternoon but wont be able to share them for a few days yet, but have lots of other things to share over the next few days!  I remembered today too that I have been patchworking and havent shared any of it with you - I can now definately add a fabric addiction to my patterened paper addiction.

Have a great rest of night everyone, and hope you've all had a better day than me :-)

Sweet Dreams

Changes!

Before I start to tell you about all the changes here I just have to say that in the 3 months since I last blogged Blogger has totally changed so you have to bare with me until I suss it out!

Can't believe its been 3 months since I last blogged, I am so so sorry!  So much has happened.  Have moved house, had Christmas, Daisy has turned 9, been poorly, had a trip in an ambulance (very scary but all was well!), and have moved shop too!!!  I sometimes forget I am not actually super woman but a single parent working 2 jobs and running a house, and that it's ok to be knackered sometimes (well a good lot of the time but who is counting lol!)

Will try and catch up with pics of new house and studio and everything else over next few weeks but I am going to start with a couple of creations from my first full day in my new craft studio!

First - a fairy.  Not made one of these in ages

Also had a play with some beautiful papers for a commission card for a special birthday.  Genuinely cant remember where these papers came from which is a real shame because they are stunning!

This new photo placement thing is tricky so I am going to stop and check that this looks ok when it is published!

Hope you are all well and happy and smiling, and I will update again soon!

Take care everyone

Peace...and quiet maybe please?

Had a mega productive day in the shop today - managed to make about 30 wee gift bags and a christmas card. Not done much in the way of christmassy stuff yet this year and I have loads of christmas stamps so figured it was about time!
The dove and world are paper pieced, and I have colourd the water with the polychromo pencil...
then just a wee bit of Frazer tartan ribbon, and a couple of buttons to finish it off...
I managed to remember to do a recipe again too!

So that was the peace so now I'm off in search of some quiet before x factor!

Night everyone, have a great Saturday night

Take care & keep smiling

Distracted!

No blog post last night, I am so so sorry , I got a little distracted by these Irregular Choice lovelies...
Aren't they AMAZING!!!!! Lovely Ginny who comes to my class bought them for with her Christmas dance outfit, and they were too small for her. Feel so gutted for her, and absolutely terrible that they didn't fit her, and even worse that they fit me perfectly ;-) Have only taken them off to go outside, and that was only because it was raining and I didnt't want them to get ruined! It's so easy to put a smile on my face. I'm such a lucky girl :-)

On with business!!!! I made a quick wee Happy Birthday card today, simplicity at its best.

The papers are from the Do Crafts Tatty Teddy range, the punch is my trusty orange Tonic.

In other news:

Check out my Facebook page (Fairy Heaven Designs) for a sneaky peek at the gorgeous new crafty stash I ordered today! It will arrive in the shop sometime in December and I'll be doing one of the famous Fairy Heaven goody bag classes with them in January. Don't know what you think, but I think they have a wee look of nitwit about them!

Right, I'm off to watch some Children in Need with Daisy (with plenty of tissues!)

Night everyone

Bunting & a weird kinda day!

Do you ever have days when you just feel thick? Or is that just me? Been reading some uncrafty blogs, and they've made feel completely blonde and useless. Pretentious language, in your face opinions and a general superiority complex seems to be theme. I may not use big words, I may not have a uni degree, a 50k a year job and a company car, but I do believe in fairness, and caring, and trying to make people feel good about themselves rather than making them doubt themselves, and not ramming my opinion down people's throat (although ironically I might be doing that just now!) Are all these things old fashioned now? Ok sorry, I think I am ranting. Will stick to crafty blogs from now on!!!

Here's a wee bunting I made for a custom order to hopefully lighten the mood! Remember these can be any colours...

The letters are all about 6".

Don't forget the Humphrey candy from a couple of days ago if you haven't already entered!

I'm off to cut some card for big snowflakes at tomorrow night's class!

Take care and keep smiling !

Fairy Friends!

I'm a wee bit late blogging tonight because I have been playing with my sewing machine and should have a finished quilt to show you tomorrow! My first ever! I am so excited! Didn't now I could sew!!!!

In other news I have finally had a play with the Fairy Glen stamps from Sugar Nellie, namely "Faye & Freddie". I made a special commission card with this stamp which I can't share for a wee while, but here's a wee extra one that I made...
She's coloured with the polychromo pencils...

The sentiment is from the Woodware "Mary & Friends" stamp set... The ribbon is Berisfords 910 15mm organza, and the backing accent card is purple ritz co'ordination card. The patterned paper is the "Desert Bloom" range from First Edition Papers...
Here's the Polychromo colours...

That's me for tonight, but don't forget the blog candy from yesterday if you haven't already entered!

Take care & keep smiling!

Til soon... xx
