Peace...and quiet maybe please?

Had a mega productive day in the shop today - managed to make about 30 wee gift bags and a christmas card. Not done much in the way of christmassy stuff yet this year and I have loads of christmas stamps so figured it was about time!
The dove and world are paper pieced, and I have colourd the water with the polychromo pencil...
then just a wee bit of Frazer tartan ribbon, and a couple of buttons to finish it off...
I managed to remember to do a recipe again too!

So that was the peace so now I'm off in search of some quiet before x factor!

Night everyone, have a great Saturday night

Take care & keep smiling

Distracted!

No blog post last night, I am so so sorry , I got a little distracted by these Irregular Choice lovelies...
Aren't they AMAZING!!!!! Lovely Ginny who comes to my class bought them for with her Christmas dance outfit, and they were too small for her. Feel so gutted for her, and absolutely terrible that they didn't fit her, and even worse that they fit me perfectly ;-) Have only taken them off to go outside, and that was only because it was raining and I didnt't want them to get ruined! It's so easy to put a smile on my face. I'm such a lucky girl :-)

On with business!!!! I made a quick wee Happy Birthday card today, simplicity at its best.

The papers are from the Do Crafts Tatty Teddy range, the punch is my trusty orange Tonic.

In other news:

Check out my Facebook page (Fairy Heaven Designs) for a sneaky peek at the gorgeous new crafty stash I ordered today! It will arrive in the shop sometime in December and I'll be doing one of the famous Fairy Heaven goody bag classes with them in January. Don't know what you think, but I think they have a wee look of nitwit about them!

Right, I'm off to watch some Children in Need with Daisy (with plenty of tissues!)

Night everyone

Bunting & a weird kinda day!

Do you ever have days when you just feel thick? Or is that just me? Been reading some uncrafty blogs, and they've made feel completely blonde and useless. Pretentious language, in your face opinions and a general superiority complex seems to be theme. I may not use big words, I may not have a uni degree, a 50k a year job and a company car, but I do believe in fairness, and caring, and trying to make people feel good about themselves rather than making them doubt themselves, and not ramming my opinion down people's throat (although ironically I might be doing that just now!) Are all these things old fashioned now? Ok sorry, I think I am ranting. Will stick to crafty blogs from now on!!!

Here's a wee bunting I made for a custom order to hopefully lighten the mood! Remember these can be any colours...

The letters are all about 6".

Don't forget the Humphrey candy from a couple of days ago if you haven't already entered!

I'm off to cut some card for big snowflakes at tomorrow night's class!

Take care and keep smiling !

Fairy Friends!

I'm a wee bit late blogging tonight because I have been playing with my sewing machine and should have a finished quilt to show you tomorrow! My first ever! I am so excited! Didn't now I could sew!!!!

In other news I have finally had a play with the Fairy Glen stamps from Sugar Nellie, namely "Faye & Freddie". I made a special commission card with this stamp which I can't share for a wee while, but here's a wee extra one that I made...
She's coloured with the polychromo pencils...

The sentiment is from the Woodware "Mary & Friends" stamp set... The ribbon is Berisfords 910 15mm organza, and the backing accent card is purple ritz co'ordination card. The patterned paper is the "Desert Bloom" range from First Edition Papers...
Here's the Polychromo colours...

That's me for tonight, but don't forget the blog candy from yesterday if you haven't already entered!

Take care & keep smiling!

Til soon... xx

Remember...

As we are getting ready for the Rememberance Parade in Alva today I thought I'd share with you a wedding card I made for the day itself. What a brilliant amazing date to get married on!

Dates like this always make me remember a girl I went to school with! She was 8 on the 8th of the 8th 1988!! It's amazing the things you remember from your childhood.

Take care and keep smiling!

A Cup of Happiness

Sorry for yesterdays lack of blog - not sure if it was the laptop or the internet that was playing up but after half an hour of trying I gave up and went to bed!

I found in my massive crafty cupboard some Henbury Lane die cut decoupage I forgot I had so I had to have a play immediately !!! (How great are craft cupboards for hidden treasures?)

How pretty is this paper range. It is Daisy's birthday in January so we are having a crafty tea party, with juice in teapots and real teacups. Gives us an excuse to visit the junk shops and collect some between now and then!

Right I am off in to the shop to make a couple of commissions, and loads more wedding invitations!

Take care & keep smiling!

The morning after...

A wee unplanned blog from home because my wee wounded soldier managed only a half morning at school before she got too sore! She is currently tucked up in my bed with her thumb soaking in warm water watching Enchanted on dvd! I love Enchanted! It's such a feel good movie! I want to be Giselle and go through life singing , wearing gorgeous dresses and still believing in "true loves kiss" and "happily ever after"! I am such an old cynic!

I've got a "Gran" card to share with you today. I used the Bloom & Grow range from Trimcraft for these. Despite buying 3 lots of this range I am rapidly running out which is disappointing because they are so cheery and pretty!

I used my stamping up punches to create the flowers

Thank you so much for looking, I am off to get ready for tonights class!

Take care & keep smiling,

Ruth

Kids!

What an eventful night. Thin I am going to have to give in and resign myself to the fact that I'm going to be a BMX widow mum! I have the girliest girl ever, although recently she has discovered BMXing and tonight we had our first hospital treatment requiring injury...the wee scone landed on her thumb and it all went into spasm. She made no fuss whatsoever, and when we got home it all came out that she was more worried that I wouldnt let her ride again lol. I can see my future and many more injuries rolling out in front of me!

On that note here's a personalised Christening commission I did recently (I wonder if those unsuspecting parents realise what they're letting themselves in for!)

I used a forever friend stamp and papers, and coloured it in with the trusty polychromo pencils again...

Here's the colours I used:

Right I am off in search of something to eat, and then I'm gonna snuggle up in my big bed with my wounded grown up baby!

Night all, tae care & eep smiling,

Snow Cozy!

I don't know where time's going at the moment...can't believe its nearly the end of the year. Just been editing some firework night pictures and am shocked by the size of both my daughter and my nephew. The pair of them have grown so much recently, and all of a sudden I feel so so old! And it was school photos today and again I feel blown away by how grown up my baby looks!

Less ranting and on to craftiness then!

Today I had a wee play with the Sugar Nellie "Snow Cozy" stamp on a diamond fold. I added some paper piecing for his hat, scarf, gloves and boots and coloured with my trusty polychromo pencils. The papers are the Do Crafts Honey & Hugs Christmas ones from last year.

Here are the polychromo pencil colours I used...I'm definately getting pretty organised lol!

Thats me for tonight, I am absolutely frozen and going to go make a cup of tea and have a hot bath, then wrap myself up in my duvet!

Have a great night and stay warm everyone!

3 days blogging in a row - I'm getting more organised! Thought I'd share a couple of "Mum" birthday cards with you today. This one is made from the Do Crafts "Tulip" range...

Love these pearly ribbon sliders so much!
