Smirky steps

Happy Thursday!!! Here as promised are the Smirk samples from the class on Tuesday (repeating this class tonight too!) These papers are just fab and lend themselves perfectly to stepper cards. Especially love the masculine ones, a perfect solution for those tricky blokey cards!
The obligatory craftrak card...
It's dance show week this week so much busy-ness in our household with 2 shows and 2 dress rehersals, but on the upside only a week to go till the school holidays WOO HOO!
Thanks for looking!
Take care & keep smiling

Goody Bag Extravaganzer!!

Hi all...thought I'd share some of my samples from Monday's 4 hour Do Crafts Goody Bag extravanganzer. It was brilliant, what a great group! Some gorgeous stuff in the goody bag too. It mainly contained the Henbury Lane collection which is beautiful (although I was kind of gutted because everyone else got felt butterflies and there were none in my bag!)

This is a little Craftrak swap card...I cut a rose from one of the patterned papers, and went over it with the gold metallic pencil to give it a hand drawn quality... Especially for you... Another "Especially For You" with an embellishment made from the brass stencil... A half easel card made using the stamp which I chopped into panels...
And lastly I attacked the white & yellow flowers, and the patterned papers with some distress inks...
Thats your lot for today ! Watch out tomorrow for some stepper cards from the new Smirk range!

Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday! Sun is shining here although very windy (great day for drying washing!). Getting ready to nip into work for a couple of hours then Daisy is dancing with her cheerleading troup at a local gala this afternoon, so plenty of sunscreen to be lathered on!

I was sitting in the sun yesterday making samples with the current Do Crafts Goody Bag and thought i'd have another go at the http://2sketches4you.blogspot.com/ challenge for this week (Got to find more of these to do, great fun!)...

Right off to drag my darling daughter out of bed...wish me luck!
Have a fab Saturday everyone!

Words of Wisdom (Apparantly!)

Brilliant day at work today chatting to some lovely customers! I have shared some tips about how I use my paper stash a few times this week and customers seem to think it was helpful so I am going to share...let me know what you think!

TIP 1!
When you have bought your pack of patterned paper take one sheet of each design out of the pack and add to a seperate stash somewhere else...you then have a working pile left that you know is never the last sheet of something and you will be much less precious with your papers and might actually use them instead of just stroking them! I use my seperate special stash of "last pieces" for my scrapbook and my "working pile" for card making and papercrafting.

TIP 2!
Take the front cover of your paper stack and write the price you paid for the stack on it, punch a hole in the top corner and store on a book ring...this will make it easier for you pricing any cards you make to sell accurately, and as the covers normal have a snapshot of each pattern on them, you will always have a record of the brand & range of paper for when you someone asks and you have inevitably forgoten!

Are these any help or are our customers just being nice? lol!

A couple of quick cards now...
And some fabric scrap wreaths I made using fencing wire, and old pillow case, and old pair of jeans and a little piece of gingham fabric...
Thanks for stopping by and looking and hopw this finds you smiling!
Take care
