Richard & Kirsty's Wedding!

I can finally shar a wedding I have been working on with you. For all of those who don't know I have a policy of not publishing pictures of wedding items I am working on until after the wedding. Have been working on lots that I can't share yet, but finally I can share this one!

The couple, Kirsty & Richard got married yesterday up at Loch Rannoch. It was a beautiful sunny crisp wintery day here and I can only hope it was the same for them up there. There colours started with a piece of Brodie tartan and evolved from there.

These are their table numbers...

all personalised with the guests pre-selected menu choices! This was hard work, but I hope worth it on the day!

Christmas Start!

Life has, as usual, been super hectic, with lots of wedding orders, bunting and general commissions to be getting on with, along with the many Christmas events this time of year brings, and, of course, the classes! It's amazing how quicky you adapt to so much less sleep!

Thought it was about time I had a go at some Christmassy pick up gifty things and after a wee scout around i found the instructions for these on the lovely Debbie's blog (I miss all the papermill girls!) You will find a link to her blog at the bottom of mine!

I love these, they are so cute, are great for using up some of my paper scrap mountain, and they are a great "wee mindin" too! I have put 3 tealights into each of mine. They'd make great wedding favours too.

Don't quite know what happened to the camera settings for the last pic - sorry about the bluriness!

Will have some piccies of wedding items for you tomorrow...the wedding is today and what a cracking day they have for it too.

Summer Bloom!!

How cold and wintery is the weather at the moment?! Frozen!!! That's summer firmly gone, and Daisy pointed out that she thought we'd skipped Autumn and gone straight to Winter, and I'm beginning to think she could be right you know!

So this brings me nicely onto another hidden treasure from my craft cupboard - Do Crafts "Summer Bloom". Here's a wee decoupage butterfly to start off with!

These papers are so so so pretty!

Got a fayre on tomorrow in Tillicoultry so going to head to bed now, but got some more samples I've been making today that I'll upload tomorrow!

Black & White Butterflies!

Well you'll be pleased to hear that I only managed one card today, but using a gorgeous PaperMania kit I found lurking in the back of my craft cupboard...talk about hidden treasure!!!!

Wednesday tomorrow and that brings aq big wedding order to work on, so going to try and get some sleep now!

Sketchy Sketchy

Hi all!!! So things have moved on - again!!! I now have a proper permanent classroom space in my "wee" shop in Alva, and have decided to go down the route of "a sketch a week" (as you will probably spot from my samples today!)
Monday I will focus on scrapbooking, however any crafts can be done around the table
Tuesday mornings & Thursday evening will be all about some sort of technique or fancy fold.
Friday will be an open craft session and get together.
Saturday mornings will be all about stamping and colouring along with the sketch.
Sessions will be £3 to cover use of all the equipment and the room, and you can bring your own stash, or kits will be available on the days. Feel free to drop by and find out more, say hi and join the fun, or email me for more info at ruth@fairyheaven.co.uk

The room is also available to hire for groups/teachers at £10 per hour!

So on with my samples!!! Here's my scraplayout using the gorgeous Cosmo Cricket DeLovely papers... this is my gorgeous "baby" on her first day pack at school - can't believe how grown up she is!!

I am loving the fact that these are all basically the same layout but look so different!

Thats my lot for this evening...it's freezing so I'm going to find a big wooly jumper and a warm drink, and an even warmer bed!

Flutterbye's

What a busy busy day yesterday!!! It's all still a bit overwhelming but I am absolutely loving every minute of it!

I actually managed in all the excitement to make some new wedding samples yesterday! I went for pale pinks, but these would look brilliant in bold colours as well...

I love this butterfly, and I have an order for one of these designs already!

I also managed to make my personalised bunting sample...these can be done in any colour and background can be hearts or stars too! They look brilliant above a cot, or you could have Just Married, or Mr & Mrs for a wedding! Anything goes with these!

Right I am off to get busy making invitations for a brilliant couple who are getting married in Rome (doesn't get much more romantic than that!)

Dreams DO Come True

So here it is, why I have been so busy (and absent) for the past couple of weeks...... THE FAIRY HEAVEN SHOP :-) I am so lucky! I have am selling all things handmade, and bespoke wedding invitations, so I am currently chasing my tail making stock! So my wee corner is within Alva Fashions at Glentana Mill, Alva, Clackmannanshire (there's even a wee cafe in the mill!). I took these pics on Sunday straight after set up so it's even more "finished" looking now!


I found the fireplace in a little local shop, and love it soooo much. It is Victorian, and I would love to know where it came from!

Here's my 1950's writing desk! This is my absolute favourite thing! It started life with me as a very dark brown varnished & veneered piece of furniture but me being me, I can't leave anything alone and I had a vision, so a couple of coats of paint later here's my French Shabby Chic writing desk!

This has been a dream of mine for so long, and it looks just how I always imagined. I can't quite believe it, it's all been a bit emotional!! I have the most AMAZING family and friends around me, who have all helped me so so much, and I feel so lucky and grateful (Getting emotional again now). I just hope they all know how much I love them and appreciate them.

I'd better go dry my eyes and make some more stock :-D
