My Minds Eye Cards & Mirrors

Well here are the cards & mirrors we did with the My Minds Eye Christmas papers, but the pictures are RUBBISH lol!! These papers are all shiny and sparkly and lovely but it hasn't shown up great at all...they're up in the shop tho so feel free to come and touch the lushness lol!!

I used the Christmas Cheer Cricut cartridge for most of them and the narrow cards are the offcuts from the square ones (waste not want not!)

Used up the scraps for this one...

how do I take a pic of a mirror without getting a reflection of either myself or anything else ugly in it...answers on a postcard please (or in the comments will do lol!)

Here I seem to be getting better at this blogging regularly thing!!!!
I made the samples for next weeks class today and I love them...it's "Chalk It Up" using loads of different chalk techniques and made some samples with the most GORGEOUS Penny Black acrylic stamps ever...a really cute wee bear! I've broken from the norm and done him lilac and he's lovely! (should that be she if she's lilac?!?!?!?!)
Hope you all have a fab weekend.

Make Make Make!!!

Well, the back to school craziness started straight away this year...the big jump to Primary 3 means homework every night and 10 word spelling tests every week!!!! 10 words I tell you, a lot when your 6! She's come home tonight with 2 A4 pages to learn for her part in the school assembly so acting every night for me for the next 2 weeks.

Made loads over the last wee while so will just put a wee selection on just now and add more when I can over the next few days....I know I know I'm really really bad at regular updates but life seems to take over and I never seem to have a second!! (Plus think I'm harbouring a wee bit of depression at entering the last year in my twentie since my last blog...the realisation has hit hard and don't want to drag everyone down with me!!)

Had a play with some of the stamps from the Popcorn range and what gorgeous big stamps they are!! Coloured these with whispers markers and my trusty newly discovered blender pen...I seriously don't know what I did without it. It's so much handier than my water brush and can be used with Sakura pens, chalk, ink and just about anything else non permanent.

It's hard to see from the picture but when I came into work after making this the genius that is Isobel had glossy accented up the balloons and they are fab!! (So gonna miss her next week when she's away aunning herself again)

The next lot are using the Green Stack from DCWV...the papers are something like 70% reclycled and have a really gorgeous texture to them. The quality is fab. I have to admit to being a bit worried when I saw they were recyled but they really are nice to use...and patterns to die for!! (There must be a self help group somewhere for this out of control patterned paper addiction of mine...any ideas anyone?)

We did a class last week with the new My Minds Eye Christmas papers...glad to see the class were "oohing" & "aahing" over these as much as I was! Will update those pics soon!
Hope your all doing well and smiling, and that those of you who have been missing the past few weeks due to being poorly are getting better really soon (and you know who you are!) because we are missing you!
xx

a much delayed post...

Big post delay I'm afraid...sorry everyone!!! Does anyone have any ideas for magicing up some time? Wasn't it Hermoine in Harry Potter who duplicated herself so she could do more things at once? How did the spell go anyone?.....

I'm busy gluing together brooches at the moment for a craft fair on Saturday at the pub next to the Cat Protection League in Fishcross for anyone who fancys coming to say hi.

Here, finally, are the pictures of the thank you favours we made for little Lewis' christening...
Good old Paper Mill Shop card and the trusty Cricut, and when does gingham ribbon ever go wrong? (or judging by my ribbon stash any sort of ribbon for that matter lol)

Here's a card Daisy & I made for her friend Jennifers 7th birthday....
They went Tubing at the local ski slope and they all LOVED it! Could be a serious consideration for that dreaded 30th of mine next year, when in doubt act like a big kid lol!!
Here's her present, again especially requested by Daisy who chose the papers...I was really pleased with how it turned out and thought the papers were STUNNING!! If my name had been Jennifer I propably wouldn't have parted with it, had enough trouble as it was!
Looking forward to the Class tomorrow night with the Green Stack from DCWV...these papers are so much fun! Have made a whole set of mini notelets with them for the fair in Saturday so will share them afterwards. Also looking forward to the long awaited arrival of the Popcorn Christmas Range in the shop tomorrow!!!! So exciting!!!! We're playing with them at the class next week and can't wait to see some of the creations my oh so talented ladies come up with!
Right back to my glue gun, have a great evening everyone....promise promise promise to post again soon, and if I don't you all have permission to leave me horrible comments chasing me!

Blubs & Bubs

Well, what a day today has been...my lovely nephews christening finally arrived! The whole day was fab, Lewis was a wee star, Daisy a wee angel, there wasn't a dry eye in the house during the service and the weather was fab.........oh no, wait, took that a step too far, it poured down!!!! Here's the Little Experience donkey Daisy and I made for his pressie, was really pleased with it in the end. Was worth the work, and Daisy thoroughly enjoyed it!

Daisy took herself off to her room the other day and drew her beloved cousin a card...it's him in his bouncer next to the sofa in my sisters living room, complete with rug, tv and bouncer details. What a memory, I couldn't have told you she had a rug let alone what colour it was!

Here's the gorgeous wee guest of honour himself...isn't he cute or am I just a biased Auntie?

And again with my beautiful sister and oh so grown up daughter...

And the cake. This was the top teir of Amy's wedding cake originally made by my nan redecorated just for the occassion...she's so clever, it looked (and tasted) fab! She did Lewis proud...

And the source of all my pain this evening...the oh so pretty shoes which I thought were a great idea but have absolutely crippled me...

they are pretty though!!!!!!!

The whole day couldn't have been more perfect really, everyone had a lovely time, there were emotional women, men talking about sports, an amazing lunch, and last but most definately not least, a gorgeous new family celebrating together almost exactly 2 years to the day since they got married in the same church and hotel (although secretly very jealous of how slim and stunning my baby sister looked!!) We made thank you favours but forgot to take a pic so will add that tomorrow!!!

Right bed for me, the emotion of the day has worn me out. Sweet dreams everyone xxx

Help!!! Demo Day Coming Soon!

Right, I'm going interactive!!

Any suggestions for ranges on shop you would like demoed on a demon day, 1st August? There's so many fab product lines in store at mo I can't decide and have to make the decision by tomorrow morning so posters can go to the printers!!!!!

So this is your big chance...suggest away...

Fairies!

Here is a pic of my wee beaded fairires, loads of people have been asking to see these so here is a cream one. I do them in all colours though, and they can be made into brooches, keyrings or hung on a ribbon for hanging anywhere...This is a card I made for my mum. I think the cupcake iis a "colour my world" template, and I'm pretty sure the papers were Papermania, and a few sticky gems never go wrong do they? This is the thankyou card we made after Daisy's birthday with the ever fabulous Cricut (what did I do before my beloved Expression?) We cut the 2 layers if the flower and the word "thank you" and left them postcard style, with just a ribbon and 3 sticky gems...fast, simple and effective just how I like them!

Right off to get ready for the class tonight now, will try and upload a pic of the Little Experince Donkey we made yesterday, he's very very cute!
Exploding boxes with the Cosmo Cricket Ever After papers tonight, gonna have to get my printer sorted because it would be perfect for black & white pics of my sisters wedding.
Right, lunch and work...

Christmas Do Craft Goody Bag

Still on a high from yesterday morning's four hour Do Craft Christmas extravaganzer! Ladies you were all fab! Christmas Carols, Mince Pies & Crafting (will have to sort the mulled wine for next time) Here are the samples for you all finally...when I can work out how to get pics off my phone I will put the rest on

A5 sized card using some of the scraps...

oops, forgot to turn this one around!! Sorry!

This one is hard to see but I put some of the silver peel offs onto the silver mirror card...

A tag made from the of cut from a square card from A4...
the sentiment from this one is stamped onto the top panel in silver, didn't come out too clearly in the photograph...
a square card with the GORGEOUS robin stamp and the glittery chalks. I used a whisper blender pen to pick up the chalk and colour this image, gives an almost watercolour effect with that little bit of sparkle...

A really simple 2 minute make, cut the tree free hand for this one...

who would be without a star punch...this one looks great with different colors and hearts for a wedding too, also can't wait to translate this one into a crapbook page so watch this space...
the circle at the back of the snowflake is from the centre of my holly wreath (which is next!) and the snowflake itself was cut using the "Accent Essential" cartridge & the Cricut...
and last but not least the holly wreath... we cut the base from Accent Essentials as well, threaded ribbon round the squares in the circe then punched loads of holly to stick on the front...
The holly punch used for all of these was from Trim Craft, I used a standard hole punch to make the berries, and the stamp sentiments were all Studio G (still available from the Paper Mill Shop, these are a STEAL at 2 packs for 99p, you get 4 or 5 little stamps per pack! Love these!)
So thats the Christmas Goody bag all finished! Boo!
Exploding Box using some STUNNING double sided Cosmo Cricket papers next week ladies, still some places left on Tuesday or Thursday but be quick....

The Lost Card...

Here's the missing card from yesterdays class post...
Thought I'd share this pic of my gorgeous gappy daughter! Can't wait to get some time to scrap it. It was one of thoe improptu clicks resulting in a pic I love. We're loving asking her anything with the answer "yes" at the moment just to hear her saying "yeth"!!!! Are we cruel parents?

On another note I've been BAD this mornin...ordered a load of "Imagination Project" papers from papermaze...like I needed more patterened papers but they are stunning and they were in the clearance section. What's a girl to do! Can't wait til they arrive. I'm so impatient when I order anything, I just want it there and then. Here's the link for the site for anyone who I've not raved to about it already - the clearance section is always a must see...

Playing with Bears!

Here (finally) are the cards from yesterdays class! We used the "Especially For You" Forever Friends card kit from Do Crafts and it's brilliant! It wasn't until I started using it I realised how much was in it. I made all these and still have loads of the kit left...
this one says "Mummys wee sweetie!"...

Not quite sure why this uploaded on its side, I'll get the hang of this eventually. If you can turn your head to one side this one is A5 size with a strip chopped off the front, then I've used a 4" square blank back to front on the other side (so it opens the opposite way) for a different take on a gatefold...

this one I think is my favourite, It's A6 size and opens at the end...

Think I've gone a bit overboard on the samples this week but once I started using this kit I couldn't stop. Hopefully we'll get some different ones soon, I'll definately be buying if we do!
(Just noticed that I've missed one, but they're taking half an hour each to upload thanks to my dire mobile internet connection so will upload it later!)
Hope your all enjoying the sunshine, scrapping in the garden with a pear cider should be compulsary in this weather...

NOTE TO SELF

Ok , lesson well and truly learned, always proof read at very least the title!! Days of or lives? I think not! Try Days of Our Lives!!!!! DOH!!!!!

Like sand through the hour glass, so are the DAYS OF OR LIVES

Ok, I admit I love watching American Trash! I am embarassed to admit that 2 of the most watched Sky channels are Zone Romantica & Diva TV. I love that you can miss Days of Our Lives for 3 months and still know whats going on. Proper switch your brain off television.

This is all sounding a bit random but there is method to my mad ranting! This week is the last week of term...already! My daughters second year at school is coming to an end, and I'm not too sure when my baby grew up! Our primary school has a burn through the middle (yes, you read that right, a burn!!) so the passing from infant school to the upper primary school is marked by a crossing of the bridge and that bridge crossing has come all too soon for me, so indeed like sand through the hour glass...

With the end of term comes the obligatory making of teachers presents, feel like I only just got the Christmas ones out! I have to confess though we cheated a little then. Bought some fab big pretty jars filled with boiled sweets (in the shape of Christmas trees no less!) which we covered with some gorgeous pink rough fibre fabric stuff (LOL dire description but you will see, it's very hard to describe!), some big flowers, buttons and, of course, ribbon!

As for this terms pressies, Daisy has had her Detective's hat on and I have a list of favourite colours to work from so projects are a go and I'll upload the finished articles when they've been handed out (you never know who's blog hopping!)
Right, now where's that Sky remote...

First photo

So thought I'd have a go at posting my very first picture on the blog! Scary stuff, but igured the sooner I tried the sooner I get to grips with it! So here goes.....

woo hoo! it worked. My lovely little Daisy chose the papers for this project, they are from the "All Dressed Up" Collection (DCWV). This was a pressie for her beloved Auntie Linseys 20th Birthday, who loved it !
